Has anyone knowledge of the Merle family who restored the Merle Chapel in St. Andrews Church, Congresbury? Who was Mary Merle and was she connected with the Norman and Richardson families who owned Iwood House ? Has anyone ever written a history of Congresbury ? Am also interested in Hester Richardson 1760 - 1794 who married first Mr Wilkins then John Tripp.I have been to the church and have photographs but need more detailed information Any help much appreciated

John Tripp 1760 - 1828 of Iwood House, Congresbury had, by his first wife, a son also John born 1790. John the younger was an attornney - at - law first in Bristol and then in South Wales I cannot find his date or place of death, his wife Rachel ( nee Rolley ) describes herself as a widow in 1841. Any help gratefully received

Please, can anyone with Congresbury connections help me to find a picture of Iwood House / Manor as it was in the 19th Century ( or even to-day ) I am the one researching the Tripp / Dyer / Richardson / Nankivell families. Why did the Tripps leave in the early part of 19C ? - They went to Bristol and does anyone know more about Frances Lewis Tripp 1800 - 1827 she married John Dyer and died in Sicily. he had three marriages to a Miss Guest then Frances then a Miss / Mrs Guelder any clues at all gratefully received. John Dyer and John Tripp were wine merchants, the businesscame to an end in c1812.Again why ?

John Tripp a lawyer lived at Iwood House Congresbury . His dates are 1760-1828 He married twice. First to Hester Richardson Wilkins then to MARY NANKIVELL of Shirehampton Very anxious to sort out forebears and descendants. Can anyone help? Glad to share information
