I'm looking for information about the family of William Abraham Cates/Cate, of Colyton, whose twin sons (Robert Ezra Cates/Cate and Richard Nehimiah Cates/Cate) came to Colonial Virginia in about 1689. I would gladly share information about descendents of Robert Ezra Cates in America. I'm interested in learning more about the William Abraham Cates family in Colyton, including where they lived, where they came from, and who their ancestors were.

green mail Besley Mystery (Jul 09 Green)
Looking for information on William John Smith Besley born abt 1851 in Colyton or Seaton. He married Emily Dare Coles in 1870 in London. The marriage certificate doesn't give a father's name just a dash then Besley. I also can't find a birth record on the BMD for him. Can anyone help solve this puzzle. I can pick him up from 1861 on the census but not living with parents. Thanks, Emma.
