Ireland.Ancestry search.
(Jul 09 Green)
I am seeking Clavan, Claven, Clavin.
My ancestors originally came from Ireland possibly during the potato famine. I first found them in Chester on the 1851 census.Elizabeth Claven, 'married' but no husband in residence on census. her first 4 children were born in Ireland (no county stated)then James and Margaret born in Chester. (as recorded on 1851 census.) My Gt Grandmother was Mary, born Ireland 1844/5.
My tree remains very small as I am unable to trace my Gt grandfather, Peter Clavan/Claven. Can anyone help?

my ancestors (Barnes)were licencees of this pub in City Road Chester. My grandmother Mary Ann Rigby Barnes, later Roach had a family photo of them outside but it has become misplaced within the family. Can any one with historical knowledge of Chester give me information on it and the Barnes family.

Does anybody have any information on my Grandfather who lived in Chester from 1905 with his second Wife Edith (nee Marland).
They had at least one daughter Marjorie Joyce.
He was at that time a 'Wines & spirits travelling salesman'.
