red mail GAY (Weeks, Ashmead) (May 08 Red)
I have a copy of my mother's birth certificate from Castle Combe in 1920. She was named Dorothy Edna Iris GAY (married John Henry ASHMEAD). Her father was Ernest James GAY and her mother was Elizabeth Jane GAY (nee WEEKS). They lived in Colerne. I am just starting out on the family tree hunt and am a bit isolated in Australia. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

green mail WALTER - GARLICK (Mar 08 Green)
I am looking for any information re George WALTER who married Honor GARLICK June 1860 at Bradford-on-Avon. George was born c 1835 and his birth place is listed on the 1861 Census as Littleton Drew, the next village. He died Sept. 1872. I suspect that he may be the younger brother of my Gr.gr. grandmother, Louisa Jane NIPPRESS nee WALTER who came to New Zealand in 1850 taking her younger brother, George with her. He was 16 and family legend has it that he returned to England. He is missing from the 1851 Census, which would be the time that he was in New Zealand. [1841 Census for area is missing] There seem to be no records of people that returned to England in the 1850's but if it can be proved that this George had done the trip out to the Colonies and returned, it would fill a huge gap in my tree and would help two other people who are also looking for a past for the elusive George.
