Burnett's in Carluke
(Jan 09 Green)
My Great Great Grandparents were Alexander and Ellen Burnett both born in Carluke. Alexander was born in 1837 and Ellen in 1843. They had one daughter Catherine 1869 and four sons John, Thomas, James and my Great Grandfather Alexander born 1872. He moved to London where he met and married Mary Rodgers born 1877 in Salford in Lancashire. They had three children Mary(May)born 1896 in Westminster then William 1897 and my Grandmother Christina Davison Amelia Burnett born 1899 in Pimlico. William died in 1917 in the Great War in Mesopotainia. I believe that the mother of Alexander 1837 was a Grace Burnett born in Carluke in 1819, but I dont know her maiden name or his fathers name. Christina wed my Grandfather William Mason in 1929.

Alexander Russell Family ,Pre1800
(Jun 06
Red)
Seeking information on my Gr. Gr. Grandparents, Alexander Russell and Jean Forrest, of Carluke. They had 9 children, one of whom was my Great Grandfather, Robert Russell, born 1815 and killed in a mine collapse at "The Law" in 1863. I would like to know where and when both Alexander Russell and Jean Forrest were born and who their parents were. I know that they were living at "Kirkton Hall in 1842. This I learned from papers on file in Canada that I was given a transcribed copy of by a man a member of another Forrest family. The Gr. Gr. Grandfather of this man was a friend / cousin of Alexander Russell.
