Son James b 1873, and daughter Margaret b 1877 who married John ENNIS. Maggie & John Ennis had sons John, Mark, Frank & Thomas. I would be delighted to hear any information on the above families. Jennifer

red mail Eyre (Eyres) (Sep 09 Red)
Ballinvally region of Co. Wexford. Early to Mid 1800s. I would like to focus on John Eyre, who married Sarah Edwards. Their children were: Phoebe (b. 1823), George (b. 1826), Alice (b. 1832), John P. (1835-1912), Thomas (b. 1836), and William (1845-1908) who is my g-g-grandfather. Going by the eldest child's birth year, I am going to assume John was born roughly 1800 and for now, will assume born in or around Co. Wexford. He is listed in the 1798 Rebellion Claimants and Surrenders list. Son, William, is also listed. Also listed is John's father - Henry. Again guessing, I would assume his birth year to be around 1780's, and again, guessing that he was born in or around Co. Wexford. I have tried every source available online. Even my distant cousin (Thomas Eyre's descendant) has hit a brick-wall concerning John and the father, Henry. If anyone has any extensive resources concerning the Eyre family of Wexford, I would be forever grateful. We believe the Eyre family received lands, perhaps as one of the Adventurers during Cromwell's invasion of Ireland. If I can find that link ... and connect the mid 1600's through to Henry Eyre ... I should be able to link the Eyres to one of the Eyre families in England that has been extensively researched already. We're so close! Another hint about this family is that William Eyre, John's youngest, moved to County Kilkenny, where they stayed until various deaths. My great-grandfather (James William Eyre), emigrated from Kilkenny to New York in 1899. Thanks so much in advance!

This is a long shot, but I am hoping someone somewhere may be able to fill in some gaps for me. I am seeking information on my Great Grandfather, James Stephen O'Flaherty who was born about 1859 or 1860, Wexford, Ireland - unfortuntely thats all the information I have. His parents were James Stephen O'Flaherty and Mary Deveraux or Devereux - again, no other information is available on them either.
