I made a mistake in my original entry. John Cannon Gilbert married Martha Jane Vogan (b. est 1857 father Joseph), not Mary jane. I'm happy to share any informaion I have on John C and his family.

John Gilbert - Ballina Co Mayo (Apr 09 Red)
My Gt Grandparents, John Cannon and Mary Jane Gilbert (nee Vogan) are listed in 1911 census as living in Belfast. John Cannon Gilbert was born in 1861/62 (est), in Co Cork. On Marriage Cert 1889 (Belfast) his father is stated as John, a teacher. I suspect his name was John Sheridan Gilbert but don't have the link yet. I believe John (snr) was a teacher in Ballina, Co Mayo. In the 1881 directory of Ballina there is a John Gilbert listed as a clasical teacher. I need help in finding John (jnr) birth cert and any other info on John (snr) the teacher and where he taught (I suspect, in Belfast, Co Cork, and Ballina Co Mayo, but have no evidence for this). Which Kearney Farm did my Grandfather come from? (Revised Dec 08 Green)
My grandfather was Patrick Kearney who left a Ballina farm with his new wife Annie Timlin to work in Glasgow. His Father was Patrick Kearney married to Bridget Loughrey and I believe his father, my great great grandfather was also Patrick and married to Anne Bardeny. Which farm in Ballina did my grandfather leave? Can anyone help?

My grandmother was Bridget Manley. She was born in County Mayo about 1875. Her mother was Bridget Bryce. Bridget Manley had a sister named Mary and a brother named Cormac. I believe that their father's name was John Manley. My great-grandmother, Bridget Bryce Manley died young and John Manley remaried. I believe that there were some half siblings. I would be intered in any info on the Manley or Bryce family of County Mayo. Sincerely Virginia
