green mail John Roberts son of Robert and Sarah (Oct 09 Green)
I am doing research on John Roberts born 2 Dec. 1878 to Robert & Sarah Roberts (Farmers)Aughnacloy. I have a copy of his baptismal certificate from 1923 from the Diocese of Clogher Parish of Errigal Trough, which suggests he survived The Great War. He served with the 1st Bn The Connaught Rangers in the Boer War from 1899-1901 when he transferred to the South African Constabulary. His discharge certificate suggests he only served with them for less than a year. I have no information on John after this. I would be interested in knowing what happened to him after he came back from Africa. He may have emmigrated to Strathcona Alta, Canada.

red mail Isabelle or Elsie Gillespie (Jul 09 Red)
We are looking for the family of Isabelle or Elsie Gillespie. This is understood that she might have come from Market Lane or Yard. Aughnacloy. We didn't find out about the Gillespie family until after my father died in 1984. We understand that she must have come to NZ around the late 1800's or early 1900's. She had a Son called Mervyn in 1908. and possibly married a John Stewart. When he was around 5 years old she put him in a school for destitute parents. It is thought that she worked on a boat as a stewardess. We have at this stage come to a holt. If you have any information please let us know.

He married Isobel Mary Thompson (birth cert has Isabella) 3 March 1920 at Aughnacloy Church of Ireland. John and Isobel had 7 known children, possibly a further 2 who died at birth/in infancy.
