Lewis (Lewys), Matilda
(Sep 08
Red)
I have a book I've been told belonged to one of my Gt-G'mothers. It has an inscription 'a small token in remembrance of her very good answering at an examination for those young persons who attend Askeaton Sunday School. from her friend & Minister George Maxwell. Nov.7th 1851.' The name is Matilda .... could be Loneys/Lewys/Lowys? Does anyone know about this name in this area, please. I have found George Maxwell, who was ordained as Curate of Askeaton in 1832, & raised to the Vicarage in 1838, where he remained until 1870.
