We are searching for the family of Nora Mary Aloysius Babington who arrived in New Zealand in 1877/78. She very carefully left no information regarding her past life, but we have her birth certificate which states she came from Abbeyfield/Abbeyfeale. She married Albert Leslie Campbell in Napier NZ aged 19 in January 1878. We do not know if her father was in the army and if she perhaps travelled with her family to NZ - or was she alone!!! You would help solve a family mystery if you could assist in this matter.

His son Denis Curtin born in Abbeyfeale 1877, emigrated to New York City, U.S. and married Mary Ann Duane. John may have had another son, Jerry. Denis and Mary Duane had five children in NYC: Lawrence, John, Denis "Dennie", Joseph and Mary "Sis"

James W. Cotter (b. Abbeyfeale parish abt 1863) emigrated to the USA in the early 1880s, and married Minnie Spellman in Chicago in 1885. They moved to Detroit almost immediately afterwards. I'd love to hear from any others who have info on the Cotters or on Abbeyfeale-to-MidwesternUSA connections.
