red mail Jack and Floss Daffurn of Fiddington (Apr 09 Red) Fiddington
My uncle Jack lived at Fiddington farm for many years before selling in the seventies. One of three farms in the hamlet, these properties were formerley part of the Tewkesbury abbey estate and provided dairy produce for the Abbey. The lane alongside is still called monks lane. The lands were confiscated by Henry v111 in about 1540 during the dissolution and at least one farm was given to his pals. Jack,Floss and their daughter Joan have now sadly passed on.I would be glad to hear from anyone with any more history.
