green mail Seagrave / Segrave / Segriff family search (Oct 08 Green)
I am looking for any data on the family of Christopher Segrave (born Ireland) and wife Mary Riley (possibly reilley of Meath Ireland). The earliest record shows the family recorded as Segary and also Segruff. Both Christopher and Mary's fathers were recorded as being called Michael and were also both from Ireland (of unknown county origins) but I can find no birth dates or accurate record for either. Christopher's family can be traced from Witton Park where he worked in the Paradise Iron Works(Escomb parish). From here they moved to Bishop Auckland and most records have been found for them at St Wilfreds R.C. Church. They settled first in 'Great Gates' Bishop Auckland then Bondgate, Powell's Yard, Backway in Passage and Bridge Street. My Great Great Grandfather Edward was Christopher's son. Any info, no mater how small would be appreciated. Andy
