red mail Do you live in Bisham? (Jun 07 Red)
Hello, Does anyone live in Bisham please? I live miles away in the North East and am unable to get to Bisham but I wondered if there are any residents who would be willing to look around the churchyard there please. I am seeking any information I can find on the Cook family primarily, and also the Hughes and Johnson families. If anyone is able to take a wander around the churchyard and let me know if they find anything relevant to these families I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you.

red mail PAIN, or PAINE family (Jun 07 Red)
Lived in Bisham for a number of years first half of 1800s, particularly Charles and Maria Pain(e) in High Street. Anyone with any further information?

red mail COOK, HUGHES families, Bisham (Apr 07 Red)
My G-G-G-G Grandad was BARNET COOK, born Bisham 1796. We believe his wife to have been called Mary. The family remained in Bisham for ages and in 1825 my G-G Grandad James Cook was born, marrying Maria Hughes of Bow, then Middlesx. At some stage they ran a pub in Bisham, presumably the ancient Bulls Head. I know that Maria ended up running the Alfreds Head Pub in Stockwell, London, at the time of the 1881 census. Her husband isn't mentioned so I presume he'd died by then. He was succeeded by Herbert, a solicitor's clerk born in Bisham, (my Great Grandad) and Mary, who worked at the pub also Frederick and James, on whom I have no info. Does anyone have any information on these Cooks please or on the Hughes family of Bow? Herbert married Alica Matilda Teatheredge late in 1881(variously spelled Teatheridge, Tetheredge etc), Alice was also born in Bisham, her father's name was James. Any info on the Cook, Teatheredge or Hughes families would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm interested in hearing from anyone with links to the Anderson family who farmed in the Cross Roads and Stubbings areas of the parish from the late 1700's.
