Coldham
(Mar 06
Red)
In the 1881 Census my great grandfather Alfred Ambrose Coldham was registered at Church Farm, Wash Road, Belchamp St Paul, a farm of 118 acres with 3 men and 2 boys. I have been to Belchamp St Paul and looked at old maps but can find no trace of Church Farm. He was still there in 1891 with wife Florence and 6 children. There is also a link to the Green Man Inn Belchamp Otten where Florence's father Alfred Chinnery was publican in 1861. In 1877 when Florence married Alfred Coldham he was the publican and her father was a farmer. If anyone knows where the farm was (it may have been in Cavendish) or any other details of the Coldham or Chinnery families I would be delighted to hear from them
