WW2 Plane crashes & bombs
During WW2 it is known that a bomb was dropped c.1941 creating a crater near Wash Bank between the 2 Wash Farms. Also there were 2 plane crashes - a USAAF plane called Tennessee Belle possibly a Flying Fortess and a Mosquito probably from RAF Downham. The Barroway Drove History Group are looking for details of these and any other memories from the time.
War memorial
The Barroway Drove History Group was formed last year when a group of local residents got together with the aim of supporting each other to research local and family history. The group have been busy researching the names of soldiers who fell in the Great War and have a list of 12 names but would now like to hear from anyone with information of any soldiers who lost their lives during active service (any war) and who had connections to the villages of Barroway Drove or Stow Bridge.
