CLARK (Revised Nov 08 Green)
I am researching my maternal side of the family; my mother Margaret Louisa CLARK b 1927 is the daughter of James Duncan Clark b.1884 - 1943. He married Louisa Streek b.1898 - 1988. They also had a son James Duncan b.1932. It is her Grandfather Donald CLARK b.1849 (in Laroch Village but changed its name to Ballachulish in the 1860's) that I seek information about. He was one of 13 children. He was a Sergeant - Major in the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards in the London Barracks. He married a lady named Isabella ( MACKENZIE unconfirmed) b.1863 in Kensington and they had 12 children.Nine of which were James Duncan (my GF),Fergus,John,Katie,Margaret,Jessie,Mary,Archibald and Angus. Donald's father was James but can find no record of him and have no idea who his spouse was. There are family links to the Forth Quarry Company which closed 1980,North Retail Granite Co.and North British Granite Co. Other surnames interwoven are COBB,MALPASS,FIELD,WHILLIER,GRANT McCALL and MACKENZIE.

Looking for any relatives I may have in the Glencoe area.Have relatives buried at Ballachulish church with name Downie/Robertson clan. Great grandmother's name was Annie Downie and married a Palmer early 1900s and moved to Dorset.I dont know if she had any brothers or sisters.Please do get in touch if you can help. thanx

Looking for information on the family of three LIVINGSTONE brothers - John b 1804 who married Mary McCOLL, Donald b 1811 who married Catherine McDONALD and Charles b 1818 who married Dorothy McCOLL. There may have been more siblings - it is thoughtthat there was a Hugh/Ewen and a sister who married a DOWNIE, but there is no evidence.
