red mail Baillieston, Glasgow (Apr 05 Red)
The origin of the name comes from John Baillie who purchased part of the outlands of Barrachnie in 1732. Baillie, who is described "John Baillie of Baillieston, sometime merchant in London" on legal documents never lived on the farm which became known as Baillieston after him - either by him or local folk who christened it such. The village of Baillieston to the east took its name from the farm, which by 1795 had become a gentleman's estate.

red mail Baillieston (8/02-10/03 Red)
This town was named after a family called Bailley. They had a big house on the sight where Bannerman High School is just now. The name of the estate was Maxwell Estate.
