green mail WESTBURY family of Aynho, Souldern area (Sep 09 Green)
I am looking for anyone with information or details of the Westbury family who worked for the Cartwright family in Aynho; most notably William Walter Westbury (1871-) and his wife Caroline (formerly Roads, 1874) and their children. Any insight and further information into the Westbury family, either their descendants or indeed ancestors would be hugely helpful, especially of William and Caroline's grandchildren, who included my Grandmother.

green mail Thomas Gurney (Station Master) and the Railway Station (Oct 08 Green)
Can anybody please tell me anything about Thomas Gurney, who was the stationmaster until 1917, and the history of the railway station?

red mail Bortons in Aynho (Mar 06 Red)
Researching family name of Borton appears to take me north to Aynho. Henry Borton married to Martha both from Northamptonshire as stated in 1851 census and this is my ggg grandfather. Son is Thomas born in London in 1818 and a daughter, Sarah born 1833. All living in London in 1851. Any help very much appreciated

red mail Bortons in Aynho (Feb 06 Red)
My family tree shows an extensive population of Bortons in Aynho from the 15th century to the 19th century. Are there still any Bortons living in the village please and if so do they have any geanaology to share. I am particularly interetsd in establishing the parents of my ggggggg John Borton b1693 (married to Margaret). Thanks

red mail Borton Family (Jan 06 Red)
Re my earlier Mar05 request - a contact thru Curious Fox has resolved my query and I now know my ggg grandfather was William Borton b.1795 in Aynho who married (date not known) Sarah b.1797 in nearby Cropredy Oxon. I now need to trace William's parentage, can anyone help please?

red mail Eli Ford, born in Aynho in 1833 (Dec 05 Red)
I am searching for Eli Ford who was born in England, 30 Dec 1833. He came to Canada some time in 1851. There is an Eli Ford, born 1833 in Aynho in the 1851 British Census. He does not appear in any further British Census although the rest of his family does. His father is Joseph, b. 1803, siblings Sarah b. 1832, George b. 1836, Hannah b. 1839, Mary b. 1841. Mother not living in 1851. Can anyone confirm that this Eli emigrated to Canada?

red mail French (Woodwards, Homer) Aynho (Oct 05 Red)
My ancestor George French (born ca 1798, Northants) lived at Aynho at least from his first (?) marriage 22 Apr 1822 to Rachel Woodwards (children Thomas, Jane, Charlotte) to the end of his second marriage to Mary Homer (children: George, Robert, William, John, Mary). He emigrated to Canada in 1842; wife Mary died on the voyage. Jane (m. Thomas Hickman) and perhaps Charlotte stayed in England. Any connection to the little tribe of Frenches in the area?

red mail Robbins Family (Aug 05 Red)
William Robbins born c 1818 died 1884, agricultural labourer born Aynho, Northants. Wife Elizabeth born c 1823 Clifton, Oxfordshire died 1890. Children: Elizabeth c 1854, Frederick c 1857, Sarah Ann 1859 all born Aynho.

red mail Borton Family (Mar 05 Red)
I have traced my ancestry back to Matthew Borton b.1833 Aynho, Herbert (Thomas) Borton b.1876 Oxford and my father Herbert Matthew Borton b.1901 Oxford. I have certain information suggesting Matthew's father was a William Borton b.Aynho but there appears to be more than one born in the village in the date range 1791 to 1804. One candidate married a Sarah Baldwin b.1797 and potentially a large family was produced which may have included Matthew. Grateful if anyone could help me clarify the right William or any alternative ideas on Matthew's parentage.

green mail Rev George Edward Willes 1844 - 1901 (Nov 04 Green)
Rev George Edward Willes Born Lichfield 16th August 1844, Died Eton district, 8th September 1901. Matriculated Trinity, Cambridge. Married Brackley 29th July 1869 Laura Harriet Stratton (born Newbury or Turweston, 21st May 1848; died Burnham, Bucks 30th January 1916). 10 recorded children, of whom the earlier ones were born in the early 1870s while he was incumbent of Aynho, which is why I ended up entering him under this location.
