I'm researching the BIERTON family from Aston Abbots and their forebears. Martha b.1852, daughter of James and Phillis (nee KENT) BIERTON, moved to Sheffield where she married John HOWE from Bincombe, Dorset. Thomas and Philis are mispelled Biceton on the Sheffield 1881 census. There are stories of the first James Bierton who was a foundling left at the entrance of Bierton Parish church with a wad of money in his basket. Has anyone else heard this tale? Please ignore earlier message.
