Stott
(Jul 06 Green)
The Stott family were carriers and carters in the Astley and Tyldesley areas (Lancs) for about 150 years from 1730. The family lived initially at Marsley Green and kept the Cart & Horses Inn at Town Lane during the early part of 19th C. Any information on this family and their business, especially any 18th & 19th C linkages with the nearby Bridgewater canal trade or construction would be much appreciated.
