green mail George Hesketh (Nov 09 Green)
I'm looking for any information about George Hesketh born c1825 in either Ashton in Makerfield or Pemberton. He married Elizabeth Schofield in about the 1840's ( she came from Crossens near Southport according to the censuses) but I've not been able to find the marriage. He moved to Parr in St. Helens after his marriage and raised a family. I found him on the 61,71,and 81 censuses but I need to find him earlier. Hope someone can help.

red mail Corcoran/Ormshaw (Mar 08 Red)
I am hoping to make contact with some of my father's family. John Patrick Corcoran was born in Ashton-in-Makerfield in May 1914. (lived at 14 Bryn Road). He had a sister Elizabeth Ellen (Nellie.) Their parents were John Patrick Corcoran (b1885 in Cloonfad I believe,Ireland) and Mary Jane (nee Ormshaw b1884 Ashton in Makerfield). John Patrick Sr was a colliery electrician. The family came to New Zealand around 75/80 years ago. (they returned to the UK for a short period, but did come back and settle in New Zealand). Nellie died young, but I believe she married and had a child (the husband and child returned to the UK after Nellie's death.) If anyone can help me with any information - especially tracking down Nellie's child (a boy I think) I would be grateful. Kind regards

green mail Fairhurst Duckworth (Oct 07 Green)
My Great Grandfather James Duckworth b1871 married Eliza Fairhurst b1874 at Bartholomews Church, Westhoughton in 1894. They had 4 children Martha, Henry (Harry), Thomas and Violet. I cannot trace Eliza's family as there were many Fairhursts in that area at the time. Her father's name and profession is missing from the marriage certificate but it does show that James and Eliza shared the same address at the time of marriage. Around 1906 James and the 4 children moved across country to Northumberland where he and his new wife (partner?)also from Ashton in Makerfield / Westhoughton area, had four more children. The second wife was also called Eliza but nee Simmons. I can not find a death date for the first Eliza Duckworth nee Fairhurst and divorce was very uncommon in those days. Can anyone help? It sounds like it could be a well kept family secret or a scandal of the time?! All help in tracing Eliza Fairhurst and her family would be greatly appreciated.
