Does anyone know of the origins of the christian name ROMAINE? both my grandfather and paternal uncle's middle name was Romaine - maybe there is more, but it is only these two that I know of. They were born/lived in Ardwick in the late 1800s. Any ideas would be appriciated. Thanks

Does anyone know of a James buckley who was a Police sergeant in 1871 at his son William Buckley's wedding to Alice Redhead in Ardwick, Manchester. William Buckley b:1850 and alice b:1852 had 3 children - William N, Stanley R and Lily all born in Ardwick before moving to Pendleton by the 1881 census. Do any of these names sound familiar to anyone? Thank you.
