Looking for any information on Alexander Smith who was a Shoemaker in College Street, Aberdeen in the early 1800's or his wife Isabel Main who died in 1827. I believe they had at least three sons John, Alexander and James between 1811 and 1816. James emigrated to Buffalo City in New York State. Capt Alexander Smith died at New Orleans in 1848.

I am trying to find info concerning one Isabella Cameron Forbes. She lived at 67 Fonthill Road Aberdeen, from 1916 to 1919. She married James Bruce Dow on 19 October 1916 in Aberdeen. Appox year of birth would be 1891 to 1898. This is however is a guess.

Am researching the REID family from Tullynessle and Forbes 1700s to mid 1800s, then Aberdeen. Robert REID married Janet LESLIE about 1785 at Forbes and they lived at 'Bithnie' on the Don River. Children: Margaret (1786), George (1787 - married Margaret CLARK 1822), Benjamin (1791 - married Margaret Milne 1832) and Lilias (1793 - married Cawfield WADE in 1837. Most went to live in Aberdeen in the 1800s. All enquiries welcome!

Seeking info about my grandfather. He was born (likely in the 1890s) and raised in Aberdeen. Later, he was superintendent of the Badlapore Tea Estate, Dimakuchi, Assam (between the 1920s - 1950s). He then left India to manage a coffee plantation in Kenya (during the 1950s). Finally, he retired in Scotland (Broughty Ferry, in the Dundee area) during the 1960s.
