CuriousFox was created in August 2002. The aim was to provide a resource for finding and identifying the myriad of UK villages, and allow genealogists, family history and local history researchers to make contact and share knowledge at a village level.

We wanted to avoid annoying banners and endless affiliate links so the site costs are covered by a small annual subscription fee. In the interests of encouraging the widest possible participation we have made it possible to use the site as either a free member or a paid member.
