Callan Family - Dalbeattie
I am searching for details of Joseph Craig Callan possibly from Auchencairn who married Mary Brown who was born 1845 possibly Dalbeattie area. They went to Hartlepool and returned to Dalbeattie/Auchencairn after 1867. Joseph died in Auchencairn on 1/4/1870, leaving a widow and son Ivie Allen Callan. Mary remarried James Douglas McClymont, a Dalbeattie shopkeeper (possibly a tailor) in 1872. I cannot find birth, marriage or death certificates for Joseph. or birth certificate for Mary.
Their son Ivie started a newspaper The Stewartry Observer approx 1892 which ran until 1950s.
