Cannot locate marriage record - George Samuel Rice/ Annie Callan/Callaghan - Deptford
I have hit a complete brick wall. Trying to trace back on my grandfathers maternal side. George Samuel Rice b 1865 lived in St Paul, Deptford area and married Annie Callan/Callaghan. I believe she is a Callaghan as I found her brothers name on a census living with the family and he is listed as Callaghan, although on a birth certificate we have for their son lists her as formerly a Callan. I have found a family that originated in Limerick and am pretty sure it is hers but cannot prove this as I cannot find the marriage details for her and George.
Could it be that, if she did indeed come from Ireland, she could have been Catholic? Would they have possibly married in a Catholic church? Where do I find these records?
Can anybody help - any ideas? This is the last bit of my family jigsaw and is proving very frustrating!
Thank you for reading this.
