My ancestor John CALF cir 1820 emigrated to Australia in 1853 according to ships records his parents were John CALF (believed to be in Sydney) and Annie or Alice Holmes. John Snr I believe was the son of William CALF and Frances Breach and was born in a hospital in Endell Street Holburn London. John Snr was later married to a Mary Ann Courtenay??? (ref.IGI)and had 3 Children William Catherine and Elizabeth Fanny Coutenay.. Mary Ann died and John snr remarried Maria Smith and Emigrated to Australia around 1850 he died in Adelaide in 1880. His daughter Catherine appears in Victoria in 1863 where she married Alfred Stone
