corkett - Caldicott - Leighton Buzzard
It has been suggested that the name Caldicott changed circa 1760-1820 to Corkit then Corket then Corkett which it has remained till today. I am interested in establishing a link with the nucleus of Corkett's at Leighton Buzzard, the largest cluster globally and the spelling change back to the proposed original version of the name as listed in Reaney's Dictionary of Surnames. I do have a dictionary of 400 listed Corkett's in the world dated about 1998, which may be helpful to others building family trees.

Calcott/caldicote - Calcott
My Caldicote/Calcott ancestors lived in England in 1230 A.D. and in the Isle of Man beginning in 1450 A.D. My immigrant ancestor, Hercules Calcott came to the Colony of Virginia about 1665 A.D. Any help given will be appreciated. Variants include Caldicott and Calcutt. Other names being researched True Clack Sterling.
