Calderwood/Catherwood - Kilmoyle
I am searching for any information on John Calderwood who was tried at County Antrim in 1823 and transported to Australia. He subsequently petitioned that his wife and 3 children join him in New South Wales. His petition states his wife's maiden name was Jane Gordon, residing at Kilmoyle, Parish of Ramoan County of Antrim, known to the Rev. Mr. Simms and Mr. John Price of the same Parish. The transportation records for John Calderwood show "John Catherwood, alias John Sinclair" It is possible that John Calderwood and Jane/Jenny Gordon were married in Scotland. Any information on this puzzle would be most appreciated.
