JOHN Calder BORN CIRCA 1891 - Southampton, Hampshire
Does anybody have any information regarding John Calder born between April and November 1891? He was my Great Grandfather.
I have been unable to find the registration of his birth anywhere (mainly because I haven't a clue where he was born!)
His father was Alexander Calder (a boiler maker)
He was living at 7 Cambridge Road, Southampton in 1913 (he was 21 at this point)
He married Dorothy Kate Tegues on 24th April 1913 at The Register Office, Southampton.
Their children were:
Alexander Duncan (23/6/1913)
John Alastair E (13/8/1916)
Donald Charles (28/11/1918)
Dorothy Helen Kate (27/11/1920)
Kenneth Francis (19/4/1923)
Derek A K (1932)
John Calder was variously a Marine Engineer, Engineer's Fitter (Ship Yard), Fitter (Shipyard).
John died on 16/11/1949 at Royal South Hants Hospital, Southampton, Hampshire, England.
His wife survived him and continued to live at 31 Middle Street, Southampton until her death in 1971.
Judging by some of the forenames I would guess at a Scottish ancestry but really can't be sure at this point in time.
If anyone has any information, whether they remember the family or are relatives, please let me know no matter how trivial.
Many thanks
Nathan
