Sophia Cairnduff, Hannaford Family - Portsmouth
Trying to discover what happened to my aunt. She was married in 1923 to David Cairnduff, a sailor, at the Presbyterian Church, St Michael's Rd., Landport. Her address on the marriage cert is given as 29 Holloway St., Landport which was the house of aWilliam Hannaford and Nelly Hannaford was one of the marriage witnesses. Sophia's maiden name was Levin, she was from Liverpool and as far as I know was not related to the Hannafords. Sophie and David had four children - Margaret, Gordon, Nellie andDavid - between 1925 and 1930 and David junior died in 1933 at 7 Henderson Road, Eastney. This is the last address I have. I traced the two daughters some years ago who told me their parents split up some time in the 30s, they were sent to their paternal grandmother in Glasgow and never saw their mother again. their father died in the War so they weren't able to get any information from him as to the whereabouts of their mother. This is all such a long time ago, but if anyone is connected withthe Hannafords or remembers Sophie or her family, please get in touch with me.
