Looking for Douglas/Donald Haig Abbott born c1931 possibly in Worlingworth son of James and Rachel. James came from Worlingworth and Rachel from Wetheringsett. I believe Douglas/Donald could be my fathers cousin and so would like to make contact with him or his descendents.

Abbott's Fair - Ipswich, Suffolk
Always was told my great-grandmother Amy Abbott was of Romany descent. She was the youngest of 12 children, the family lived at 4 Abbotts Court, Fore Hamlet. GG-grandfather William Abbott is listed in the 1881 Census returns as being born in Ipswich in 1828. I understand that it was usual for Romany people to list wherever they lived as their birthplace. Anyone ever hear of Abbott's Fair operating in the early to middle 1800s? Would love to know more. Thanks!

Abbott Family 19th. Century - Stanton-by-Dale, Derbyshire
There was a family of Abbotts living in or near Stanton in the early 1800s, was there a William among them who ran foul (pardon the pun)of the law in 1819 for stealing two barn fowls and was transported to NSW? Was Stanton or a part of it within Notts. County at about this time?

Abbott - Bethnal Green, Middlesex
Looking for Charles Peter Abbott b: c1824 Bethnal Green.
Emigrated to Australia, where he married Martha Tyrrel Parrott in 1853.
Returned to Bethnal Green sometime after 1866 and died there in 1883. Burial place is unknown. In the 1881 Census, Charles was
living at 85 Warner Place, with two of his sons - Charles Henry and William Henry. Can't find when they came back to Australia, but Charles Henry definitely returned sometime before 1894.

I am trying to trace the descendants of Harry Abbott of Alconbury (1859-?), son of John Abbott and Martha Cade and brother of Charlotte Abbott. Harry was a carpenter who went up to London for a while but had returned to Huntingdonshire by 1901 with his wife, Eliza, and children Arthur, Martha, Marjorie and Nellie.

FLINT in 1934 and they had Judith born 1939. Ellen married Richard K. COLE (1913-1994) in 1937 and they had Michael J. born 1938. Possibly Judith or Michael or people who knew them are still in the Dover area?

Margaret's parents were: Ernest Abbott D:1890, Edith Seymour B: 1896.Ernest from Richmond and Edith from Thirsk. They married in 1919.

Looking for info on George Lewsby Abbott(1825-1884) who is in High St, Barnstaple in 1851 then in Sheffield 1861 & 1871, Bishops Tawton in 1881 but has a daughter Margaret Lewesby Abbott born in Barnstaple in 1878 & he dies there in 1884.He may also have briefly been in South Australia. Thanks.

James Abbott & Sarah Lewsby m. 1771 St Sidwell - Exeter, Devon
Looking for info on James& Sarah Abbott & their son George & any other children. Believed to have married at Saint Sidwells on 29 Aug 1771. Their son George was supposed to be born Exeter, 18 Feb 1794. George married Sarah Bilney at Huntingfield, Suffolk on 16 Mar 1818. He was an architect & worked for 22 years in the employ of Mr. Robert Cornish and his father, architects and surveyors, of Exeter, and was also engaged for some years in the establishment of the well-known Mr. Cubitt. He came to South Australia with some of his children in 1849. At least two of George's many children were born in Exeter. George Lewsby Abbott in 1825 & Robert Bilney Abbott in 1828.Any info would be great, Rose.

George Lewsby Abbott, 1825-1884 ,Architect - Sheffield, Yorkshire, West Riding
Looking for any info on George Lewsby Abbott who came out to South Australia with his parents George Abbott & Sarah Abbott nee Bilney & siblings in 1849. He returned to England before the 1861 Census & worked as an architect in Sheffield before retiring to Devon about 1878. His son George Hughes Abbott was born c, June 1862 in Sheffield. His wife is Mary Ann (nee Hughes?)in 1871.On the 1881 Census he is as George Rewsby (not Lewsby) Abbot (not Abbott) with a new wife Ann Alice nee Watts & baby Margaret Rewsby!Abbbot at 3 Prospect Place, Bishops Tawton, Devon England. He was born Exeter, Devon & aged 56 so born c. 1825. His father George & two of his brothers Thomas Augustus & William Henry were also Architects.George Lewsby Abbott may have been involved in an "unfortunate railway accident " in 1877 which led to his retiring.
