Abbot, Abbott - Dawley Bank, Shropshire
I am looking for information about my great great grandmother (Ellen?)Abbot. She married Robert Agar in 1881. In 1901(census details) she was living in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, gave her age as 44 (born approx. 1857?)and her birthplace as 'Dawley'. Family legend says she was small with red hair (probably auburn); went in to service at age nine(9) years; had a brother who painted china and there is some memory of the town of Broseley. Any information gratefully received as we can find no Ellen Abbot or Abbott of her approximate age in any available lists etc.

Abbot - Scoble - Harford, Devon
Looking for information on John Abbot (born about 1720) who married Joan SCOBLE (dau of John and Joan SCOBLE) in Harford June 1747. They had the following children - Susanna, Anna, Betty, Martha, William Scoble, John, and Jenny who married Edmond NOTT. Jenny and Edmond are my g-g-g grandparents.

Sir Morris Abbot - Guildford, Surrey

Sir Morris Abbot was born Guildford 1565 and died London 10th Jan 1642. A merchant and Lord mayor of London, he was knighted on the accession of Charles I. 1625. he was one of the original directors of the East India Company, and its Governor in 1624, rendering it most important services. He was elected to Parliament 1621 and in 1624 became a member of the Council for the establishing the colony of Virginia

Charles Abbot was born at Abingdon 14th Oct 1757 and died 7th May 1829. He was a politician and Speaker of the House of Commons 1802-16, and was created Baron Colchester 1816. He was Chief Secretary and PrivySeal for Ireland in the Addington ministry of 1801
