James Hagan emigrated to Australia in 1838 with his wife Sarah (Lester) and children William b 1836 and James b. 1838. His parents were Thomas Hagan an overseer on the Ulster canal, and Hannah Marley.
Sarah's parents were William Lester a farmer and Rebecca Haddock who was a quaker. The Lesters were from Armagh and lived in Palnagh House, Killylea. I would like to hear from any members of these families.

looking for information on william Culton, farmer and his family Ellen (nee maclean) and their children william, David, Ellen, James, Maria and Annie. William and his family went to Illinois in about 1861 but William junior came to Australia. I Believe Ellen and her family lived in Dyan and her Maclean family who came to Australia in the late 1850s gave Caledon as their place of birth. Any assistance with both the Culton and Maclean families would be appreciated.

Samuel Wallace is said to have come from Co Down with his 6 children, Mary,Robert,Samuel,MaryJane,Isabella and Eliza, to farm in Mullineal townland and to attend Minterburn Presbterian Church. Mary married an Anderson and emigrated to the US, Mary Jane married Robert Warwick and Eliza married John Liggett. Descendants farmed at Mullyneil and remained strong supporters of Minterburn, which is only a few miles from Caledon. I would like to learn his wife's name and where in Co Down the family came from. Samuel is in Tyrone on Griffith's Survey (1851) but not on The Tithe applotment in the 1830's.

Researching Dicksons prior to 1769 in/around Tyrone, Omagh, Termon, Carrickmore, Six-mile-cross, Moylagh(Beragh). Looking for family 3 brothers and 1 sister (may be others but not proven). Richard, John, Susanna and Joseph. Joseph left from Londonderry in Aug 1769 carrying with him two certificates, dated 1769, attesting to his good character, one from Termon signed by a Johnston and one from Moylagh signed by Joseph Scott.
Not sure if Joseph's brothers and sister sailed at same time with him but all came to USA, Pennsylvania to Virginia and then West Virginia.

Issue: William., Annabella, Margaret, Andrew, Mary, John & Robert. Emigrated to Australia in 1854. John was a farmer at Dungannon, was literate, paid fare of thirty pounds on ship 'Rodney'. Any information pre-1854 very welcome.

This was my Grandmother`s last residence (drumrainey cottages Castlecaulfield)before she died in Limavady Heritage Hospital on 28th March 1940, I believe her niece Winnifred Kerr was with her when she died, she had a son called James a daughter called Annie and originally came from the Co. Armagh area, her maiden name was Steenson. My sisters and I were always led to believe that she was buried in St. Michael`s C. of I. in Castlecaulfield but the grave can`t be found.Any help would be much appreciated.

Searching for birth/marriage info for John Coulston 1789-1875 and his wife Mary Struthers. He rented property from John Y. Burgess at Terrenew from about 1860; he died there in 1875. Possibly brother David also rented there. Some later family records found at St. Michael's; ie his grandchildren Elizabeth, Louisa, Charles, Davd, Robert. According to my great aunt, my great grandfather, Thomas Kennedy, was born in Castlederg on 14 Feb 1858 to William Kennedy (dob 29 Jan 1828) and a Miss Hamilton. I would appreciate any information on any of the three named above. Thomas emigrated to Canada and died there on 30 Aug 1934.

I am looking for any information about James Hemphill & Mary Russell who married in Co. Tyrone, Ireland. They had at least three sons, Robert Hemphill born in 1833, James Hemphill born 1835 & Johnston Hemphill born in 1836. All three boys left Ireland for Australia, but the parents remained behind. It is thought there were other children of James & Mary as well.
The sons Robert & James were both married in Ireland in the parish of Termonamongon, whilst Robert was said in his memoirs to have come from Castlederg.

Interested in John KYLE born c. 1832 at Lisnacloon, married Rebecca FORSTER there in 1858 in the parish church Termonamongan and eventually died there in 1902 while on a visit from Australia to his place of birth. He was apparently buried next to his father, Robert, a farmer of the district. Any information concerning the above would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for Smith family from Breen, near Castlederg, Tyrone, Ireland and McCormick family from Castlederg. Mathew Smith b 1811, married Ann and had children John, Thomas, Ellen and others, all born Breen area. Thomas married Elizabeth McCormick from Castlederg and had son Thomas Henry Smith b 1831ish who moved to Liverpool with brother Mathew. Mathew married Mary Ann (Minnie) McCormick (married in Castlederg but moved to Liverpool). None of them moved to USA as far as I am aware. Any information would be great!

I am looking for information on my g-g- grandparents, Terence McGoldrick and Margaret Boyd. I know they had at least one son, Michael, b.1870 in Castlederg. Michael is my great-grandfather. From previous searches I know that Terence died in 1889 aged 60 years. I cannot find a record of birth or marriage for Terence and Margaret. Michael married twice. His second wife was Bridget McGrory nee Begley and they lived in Ballinakillnew Mountain.

Andrew White married Grace Atchison in 1857 at the "Meeting House Clady" in the parish of Ardstraw. At the time Grace lived at Spawmount her father a farmer. Is Spawmount the name of a farm and are there any Atchison's still in the area.

I'm looking for information on Edward Irvine King b.c. 1824 in Clogher, Co. Tyrone.
By 1847 he had moved to Suffolk, England and had become a Policeman. He gave is trade as Watch and Clock maker and when he married in 1851 to Janette Mary Huntley, he gave his fathers name as George King, a Farmer.

Looking for John Smith born Clogher 1804, joined army in 1821 at Newry, then Royal Artillery 4th Battalion (2nd company) 1822, Canada 1822-1829, West Indies (4th Battalion 3rd company) 1839 to 1842, died 30 April 1843 at Hilsea Barracks, Hampshire
He married Elizabeth Murray April 1827 in Canada.
Eldest son George born July 1828 may have returned to Ireland in 1830s, and a daughter also, possibly. Other children James born 1836 Clonmel, John born 1839 Hilsea Hampshire, William born 1841 British Honduras and David born 1843 Hilsea Barracks remained in England with mother Elizabeth who remarried John Telfer in 1845.
John may be related to a William Smith born Clogher 1793 who joined army c. 1811 was in 4th Batalion 2nd company, was at Battle of Waterloo, returned to Clogher with wife and four children in 1832 after discharge from army

John Little and his wife, Mary Stuart lived in Garlow(Girlaw) Townland, Clogher Civil Parish, about 21/2 miles north-east of Fivemiletown. His children were Charles, Guy, John and Jane Little.
Charles married Squire Lynn's daughter and lived in Auchnacloy and had four children, Daniel, Alexander William and Robert.
Guy married the daughter of a wheelwright.
John married Miss Lord.
Jane married Thomas Alexander. They moved to Canada about 1822.
I would like to learn more about John Little and wife Jane Stuart and their families.

Francis Hughes m Mary McAliskey, son James born 10th Sep 1886. Francis & Mary gave address on birth cert of James as Annaghmore, Coalisland. According to family memory, the Hughes family were shopkeepers and seedsmen in Coalisland and I can find plenty in Piggotts to confirm this but there are several Hughes' lines. James went on to marry Mary McArthur in Port Glasgow, 1912, parents both deceased by that time (according to marriage certificate) . I have a Francis Hughes born 08.08.1866, Coalisland but cannot find census or marriage records for him to corroborate. Think I've hit my brick wall.

I am desperately seeking my Irish ancestors who I believe originated in a small village Drumreany near Coalisland Tyrone. When orphaned, my grandmother was brought up in this village with her grandparents John McGill and MaryAnn nee O'Hara. John was a labourer in the coal mines born 1836 and MaryAnn in 1838. Looking for any information about the Harkness family in the Cookstown area around 1800. According to her abituary when she died in Muskegon, Michigan, USA in 1889, Eleanor Harkness was born in Cookstown on 25 Sept 1800. She married Hugh Boyd in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada and later moved on to Wisconsin and Michigan. She also had at least two brothers (William & Unknown?) and another sister (Emily), but could have more siblings too. I don't know anything about the siblings birthplaces or dates or about their parents? Would like to visit Cookstown in person someday, but would like to learn a little more about the Harkness family history first. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
