Looking for any information on Jane TROW, born at Berriew, Mont between 1836 and 1839. She married Joseph Renfrey of Truro about 1855 and the family lived at Berriew until the tragic death of 2 daughters, aged 5 and 3. The family then moved to Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire.

William Morris -m- Eliza Pryce at Berriew Dec 1879. His father was Robert, and hers William Pryce. Believe William to be born in 1852. Eliza in Bettws (not sure which one its likely to be) Montgomery 1855. William proving elusive at moment, says he was born Welshpool, but can't pickhim up. Can anyone help. Am based in Chester. Looking for the family name of Mary who married Edward TURNER circa 1815-1821. Edward was a sawmiller. Also names of all their children. Looking for a precise location of this township in the Berriew Parish in the 18th/19th centuries. I cannot find it on a modern topo map on this site. The first spelling above is how the name was recorded on the 1881 census as the birthplace for Mary Turner nee Humphries born 1792. The second spelling seems to be the more modern one. The township is recorded as Allt in the 1833 "A Topographical Dictionary of Wales" by Samuel Lewis.

Williams in Berriew - Aberriw, Berriew
Have just started tracing the Welsh line of my family history. Lucretia Williams approx 1885 is the daughter of Evan Williams approx 1855, and according to the marriage certificate he is the son of Evan Williams. I have been trying to find a census of the two Evan's together(1861 being the most obvious) but the only entry I can find lists a father aged 23 and sons aged 11 and 7, is it just my maths or has something gone wrong. Does anyone else know about this family? I can provide more details if anyone is interested.

Jones, Edward b. 1793 - Bettws Cedewain
Edward Jones b.1793 in Bettws and wife Mary b.1799 in Aberhavesp, Montgomeryshire. Children: Ann b.1824 in Bettws, John b.1827 in Bettws, Edward b.1830 in Llanllwchaiarn, Mary b.1832, Jane Hudson b.1834, Benjamin b.1837, George b.1839 all in Llandyssil, Charles b.1841 and William b.1845 both in Kerry. They were farming in Kerry in 1841 and from 1851 - 1881 they lived in Mainstone in Shropshire, farming at Edenhope Farm, which was about 1000 acres employing about 15 staff. Mary Jones of Edenhope left a bequest for the building of a new Primitive Methodist chapel in Mainstone. Thanks Mary

DRAYTON & PASSANT of Buttington, Welshpool - Buttington
Robert DRAYTON born Worthen 1789 and brought up in Welshpool. Married Elizabeth PASSANT of Worthen but at Trelystan near Montgomery. Then settled at Hope in Buttington parish and raised 4 children: Edward 1821; Eliza 1824; John 1828; Sarah 1832. In 1851 Robert Drayton was living with his brother in law at Pontesbury, Shropshire as was Sarah Drayton. Edward Drayton married Mary and brought up a family in Maesbury near Oswestry. In the 1861 Census Robert Drayton was staying with him. John Drayton also lived in Maesbury.

Brees And Gwillim Families - Caersws
Matthew (born Llanwnog)and Anne (born Llanavan-fawr) were married at Caersws in 1813, and had a son Thomas (in 1819) who later became innkeeper at the Lion Inn, Llandinam, around 1870. His wife and he are buried in Llandinam churchyard, having died in 1874 and 1892 respectively. Daughter was Mary Jane Breese (the official spelling of the name by this time), born around 1850. More on the Brees/Breese/Gwillim families, please.

Information required on the birth and death of Jonathan JONES born Carno about 1848-51. His father was William Jones a tailor. Later Jonathan became a tailor and moved to Taliesin, Cardiganshire with his wife Ann. They had 3 children, Richard,David William and Ann Jane. His wife died in 1887 and he subsequently married Catherine Ann Morgans and had a further 5 children John Owen, Mary Margaret, Thomas M., Elizabeth C. and James M. Believed to have died 1916 as a result of the death ofhis eldest son Richard at Mametz Wood on the Somme. Would like confimation of this. Descendants of David William are believed to have emigrated to Alberta, Canada in the 1920s or 30s. any information on trans-Atlantic cousins would also be welcome.

Looking for the parents and siblings of Elizabeth Jones, born 1838 in Carno. Elizabeth married Richard Jenkins, b. 1836, also of Carno. They had a daughter Kathryn Jenkins in 1863 in Carno. Katherine married Thomas Evans, also of Carno, whose parents were Mary Humphrey and Richard Evans, all of Carno. Any information on these families will be greatly appreciated. Thomas Evans and Katheryn Jenkins moved to Iowa about the same time, where they started a family. I am Katheryn's great granddaughter.

They had 10 children: John Elinor, Edward, Mary, Lewis, William, David, Elizabeth, Margaret, Jane. My particular interest is William (grandfather), but much info' on all. He married a Sarah (possibly Sarah Colboum. 10 APR 1819 Saint Peter Or Collegiate, Wolverhampton, Stafford, England This is a possibility, but can find no other records for Sarah Colboum at present.) Sarah was also born in Church Stoke c 1794.

They had moved from "Tymain" Llangurig after 1841. Please has anyone a connection with this family?

Richard c1800 married Mary ? c1798 both born in Llanwrin. They had a son Evan Jones b1822 in Llangadfan and Susannah Jones b1830 in Mallwyd then went on to live in Garthbeibio. I am interested in finding out Mary's surname before marriage, the date and place of their marriage and any other information regarding their parents etc. On the census returns 1851,1871,1881 they seem to stay in Garthbeibio but as yet cannot find them on the 1861 census, and have no access to 1841 as yet.

The Hurdley Family - Hurdley
It seems logical to suppose that this is where we originated (at least as Hurdleys), but the nearest I have got so far is Edward and Jane Hurdley who lived the Alberbury/Westbury area in the early 1700s. Early in the 19th century members of the family moved to Broseley, presumably in response to the arrival of the Industrial Revolution. Since then we've spread all over the place.
