Robert John Weech born 1893 son of Charles Henry Weech married Maud Matilda Bown in Somerton March 1913. They had three children Charles J. Weech born 1913 and Dorothy M. Weech born 1915 and Edith E. Weech born 1917. Robert had been living Abercynon in 1913. The two girls birth registered Bridgend. Robert John Weech as Charles Henry Weech worked in the mines. Please give assistance to locate info on Robert and family. Charles Henry Weech moved to Canada in 1927. No idea of remainder of family.

Cuaraur? near Bridgend is the adress given on my great uncles Hezekiah Morgan Army papers under person to be informed of casualties which is the adress of his brother William Morgan.Hezekiah was killed in action in France in 1918. Can anyone help with any info about William Morgan such as was he married did he have children.I am sure about the house no and street name but not about the locality Cauraur as the writing is not good and very faint. I am looking for information about Emma Stock or Stocks who so far as I can determine was born in Glamorgan and married William Davis in Bridgend on 1 January 1870. They then moved to Hereford where their son Albert was born in 1872. William Davis was a stonemason. Emma his wife was I am assuming illiterate as she marked her son's birth certificate with a cross. In about 1876 they immigrated to New Zealand where at least two more children were born. Emma died about 1903 in Christchurch New Zealand and William died about 1919 in the Wairarapa District, New Zealand

Finnerall - Briton Ferry, Llansawel
I am searchng for two members of the Finnerall family. (1) James Edward Finnerall who was last known to be in Briton Ferry in 1919 when margaret, a daughter of his, sailed to the USA. (2) Also, His son Harry Sinclair Finnerall who was born in 1908 and his birth was registered at Fylde in Lancashire. Harry married Miriam Jones, born August 1913 and who died in Neath/pPot Talbot Hospital in 2004. I believe Harry and Miriam lived in Margam and he worked at the steel works.

hi does any one have any information on rosa rabens who was born in wales abt 1888. she married frederick robbins on the 1 nov 1905 and had 4 children eunice rosina, margaret, jack and violet. her husband frederick died in 1916 at the battle of jutland and she remarried a griffiths. im unsure of his first name but i know they married in wales after 1918. they had 3 children cyril j griffiths(1921), Gwynth griffiths and rose griffiths. any help would be appreciated?

HELP! I’m doing an MA in Women’s Studies at Ruskin College. For my dissertation project, I’d like to find out more about the lives of women who were living in Butetown in the 1920s and 30s. I’d like to get in contact with Welsh women who married seamen from the Caribbean, Africa and Asia as well as their daughters (and sons!) who might have memories of their mothers’ lives. Hi I am looking for any information on Theophilus Phillips who was a wool weaver, born in 1828 and lived in Onllwyn Rd, Cardoxton. He married Esther Hughes born 1833 and had 10 children: Hannah 1854, William 1856, David 1859, Thomas 1861, Morgan(my great grandfather) 1863, Martha 1868, Margaret 1870, Mary Ann 1872, Evan James 1875 and Ruth 1879. Also any info on Morgan Phillips who married Hannah Jane Thomas who had approx 9 children including my nana Tegwen who married Alfred Hunter, they lived in Seven Sisters. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hurford - Cadoxton
Researching the family of Sarah Baker, who's father James was a coal seller in Canton. Sarah married an Edwin Arthur Hurford and they had a son called Edwin. Edwin Arthur Hurford died in 1898. Sarah went on to have another son - Thomas Francis - my grandfather in 1901. My grandfather cites John Hurford as his father on his wedding certificate. Sarah had a sister, Ellen who married an Arthur Carter in 1898. Sarah died in 1905 and Thomas and Edwin are reputed to have been brought up in an orphanage. Thomas subsequently lived in Cadoxton Barry till he died in the early 70's.

Holland - Cadoxton
Researching the family of Charles William Holland last known at 12 Jenner Street Cadoxton. Originally married to Mabel Holland (nee Hoare) but after her death he had a relationship with a Mrs M A Pullin. My grandmother Gladys Muriel Holland was his daughter and married Thomas Hurford and they lived at 2 Jenner Street. Charles also had two sons, Stanley and Ivor and another daughter Violet. Violet married one of Mrs Pullins sons. Can't find any records about Charles after 1925. I met one of Violets daughters (Mary)at my grandmothers funeral in 1987 and she still lived in Barry at the time. Would like to receive information about the family.

I am looking for any information on the Maddocks family who lived at one time at Thames Villa Cadoxton. William and Phoebe had twins Cyril and Daisy born c. 1893/94, and Trixie b 1895. Phoebe had been married before and had two daughters, Eleanor and Coral surname Nurse. William was a farm manager and later moved to Martin Hussingtree in Worcs to run a farm.

John Thomas b 1760 married Ann Poly 3 June 1779 in Cadoxton. Their son John (1780-1856)born in Cadoxton lived at Cefn Celfi Neath. Their son John (1823-1896)married Mary Elizabeth GRIFFITH (1819-1902). They lived at Ynys y Mond and Court Herbert Neath. Their eldest son John (1845-1884) married Nancy Isabella Evans Bevan (1848-1884). Their daughter Mary Isabel Gwendoline Bevan b 1880 married John HEYWOOD b 1874 on 23 March 1896. They had two choildren John and Nancy HEYWOOD b c 1898. John and Mary Elizabeth had five other children all of whom were unmarried. The best known of them was Sir Griffith Thomas (1847-1923) who also lived at Court Herbert.

Charles Vivian - Cadoxton Juxta Neath,
My 4x great grandfather Charles Vivian (1760-1824) came up from Camborne to Neath in 1793 and was employed by the Neath Abbey Iron Company as Agent or Manager. He married Mary Tippet(b.1759) at Camborne in 1783. He was a Mine Captain there. Charles and Mary had 5 children at Camborne and 5 at Neath. Mary (1784-1850), Charles (1785-1790), Elizabeth (1787-1789), James (1789-1792), Charles (1791-1857), James (1793-1859), Elizabeth (b.1795), John (1797-1838), William (1799-1872) and Edward (1801-1886). There may also be a daughter Annie or Nancy b.abt. 1802/1805 who emigrated to America. Charles might have left his employment at Neath in the early 1800s and moved to Tredegar to work for The Tredegar Iron Company.

My Great Gr Grandfather HENRY VIGORS (1768-1830) born in BILSTON/BELTIN Shropshire married Margaret Griffiths (1786-1864) at St Catwgs Church Cadoxton Neath on 14.06.1812. They had seven children, Lewis Griffith (1813-1893), Mary (1814-1891), Henry (1816-1871), SARAH (1823- 1909 my Gr Grandmother), Thomas (1824-1859), Margaret Elizabeth (1824-) and David Wood (1829-1866). The eldest son Lewis Griffith Vigors married Elizabeth (1811-1863) their children were Henry (1840-1893), Lewis (1842-1895), David (1844-1902), Griffiths (b 1848), Thomas (1852-1876) who was lost at sea and Elizabeth (1851-1877).SARAH Vigors married John Williams of Yastradgynlais in 1854. Please contact if this is a branch of your family tree.

I am searching for anyone connected to Thomas THOMAS, collier, and his wife Mary HARRIS or HARRIES who were living at Penlwynybout, hamlet of Neath Higher at the time of the 1841 census. Their known children were born in Cadoxton-juxta-Neath parish, Gwenllian c.1826, Rachel c.1831, Anne c.1834, David c.1837, William c.1839, Catherine c.1843. They also had an adopted daughter Harriot c.1840. By the time of the 1851 census they had relocated to Ystradgynlais. Daughter Gwenllian marr. Morgan DAVIES at Neath c.1846. They had two children Gwenllian c.1847 and Rees c.1849. Morgan died prior to the 1851 census. Any information appreciated.
