Gibbon, David and Mary - Penderyn
My great grandparents were married and worked in Penderyn.
David was born in Fishguard(I think) in1833
Mary was born in Craig-y-Forest in 1841
David worked at Penderyn Lime and Silica works and prior to leaving for the states (1861 Census says he was a Quarry Man in Penderyn-Age 27) kept the Lamb Hotel at Hirwaun or the Lamb Hotel at Penderyn. Mary was staying at the large Ysgubor (Sp?)
Fawr farm, where she was a maid, near Penderyn at the time of the wedding although her family home was at Godregraig, Ystalyfera.
Mary is listed in the 1861 Census of Wales as the wife of David Gibbon in Pendryn, Breconshire, Wales age 20.
They were Married in Penderyn 22 Dec 1860.
David was also a Deacon at the Baptist Chapel and taught Sunday School.Mary Lewis was staying at yshubot(sp?) Fawr farm Penderyn at the time of the wedding. Should study the gravestones in Penderyn. They immigrated from Herwin, Aberdare, Glmorganshire to America in about 1866.
David may have had a brother there too possibly named Levy or Levi.
The mystery is who were David's Parents???. And where?

Williams Family - Trefil
I am trying to trace my relatives who livid in Trefil (spelt Trevil in 19C) between 1865 and about 1890.
The father was Nathaniel and his wife was Ann (nee Morgan) he was a quarryman. I believe there were 17 children of whom 11 survived childhood. My husbands great grandmother was Caroline and she was born 29 Jul 1882. The siblings I know about were Mary Jane, William (Will), Margaret Ann, Catherine, David, James (Jim), Elizabeth (Lizzie),Caroline, Rebecca (Bec) and Nathaniel
BMD isn't a lot of use as the names are just too common in the area. Most of the family moved to the Bridged area to work in the collieries. Nathaniel and family moved to Coventry. I know a fair bit about Mary Jane, Will, Caroline, Bec and Nathaniel.
I'd love to find out more about the others even just their names and dates of birth.
