Davies and Gratrex-Davies Families of Crickhowell - Crickhowell, Crucywel
I am currently researching a book on the community of Langley, British Columbia, during the Great War. One of the soldiers I am researching is Valentine Llewellyn Gratrex Davies, son of Edward Gratrex Davies and Elizabeth Morgan Davies and brother of Edward John Gratex Davies and Gwenllian Gratrex Davies. Valentine was killed in action while serving with the 7th Canadian Infantry Battalion. His brother Edward married Edie Bannister and died in the mid-1920s in Weston super Mare. She later married Leonard Guy. Gwenllian married Thomas H Gwyther and was apparently predeceased by her children Margaret and Edith. Thomas was a banker in the west country and the couple retired to Melbourne. Edward Gratrex Davies was a prominent barrister and his siblings were Rev Henry Charles Davies, David Davies and Emily Davies. I would like to connect with family members for more information.
