I am looking for information on the above whom I believe was my ggg grandfather. He is shown aged 60 on 1841 census living at Loanhead with his daughter Mary and grand daughter Ann. I believe he had a son named Robert McKenzie Clelland who was an apprentice baker at this time. Any help much appreciated.

My g-grandmother,Janet/Jessie Reid,was born 1838,to John Reid(collier)and Elspeth Ross.Jessie had 4 siblings:John b1836,Catherine b1840,Margaret b1842 and Isabella Forgue b1845. Isabella's unusual 2nd name is that of another village so maybe a grandparent came from there. Jessie came to New Zealand 1862.

When his daughter Martha married a John Davidson in the parrish of Cockpen in 1815 Gardiner is recorded as deceased.

My father, Alan Willam Robertson, was the only child I believe of David and my grandmother (name unkown) my grandfather was born in Newington, Edinburgh. He was valet/batman to a Lord in WW1.He served in the Scots Guards but was killed at the end of the war. He lived at some time in Chatham Kent where my father was raised by persons unkown. Thomas Miller left from the Port of Leith in 1829 on the "North Briton" for Tasmania Aust.
He was a carpenter and helped build many houses, the most significant Clarendon House in Launceston, Tasmania.
He m.18 mar. 1836 to Elizabeth Passey and had Keziah Miller b.1836 Launceston, Montague David b.1839 Launceston, Alfred b. 1843 Launceston.
Georgina was b. 1854 in Victoria after they moved there, firstly at Port Fairy then onto Melbourne.

Looking For James Murray Smithson

My great grandfather James Murray Smithson cannot be found! He was born c 1835 in Edinburgh, father thought to be a William Smithson. He was a cabinet maker by trade and was in Manchester by the 1851 census. Family legend has it that he was born orlived in Portobello in his early life.
Cannot find any trace of him in Scottish records, in fact no Smithsons can be found at all. His middle name of Murray could be a clue.

I am looking for any information anyone can find about George Speller, he was a Cabman for the Queen. He was born in 1855 in Middlesex. He married Elizabeth Anstee from Edinburgh Scotland. They lived at 4 William St, Bethnal Green, London, Middlesex,England during the 1881 Census.(Elizabeths brother was a Lord) The Spellers' first daughter was Lizzie Annal, they had 2 more children I believe a boy & another girl, Mabel Alice born 1884 in Middlesex. At the age of 10 she worked as an assitantto the Ladies in Waiting for the Queen, then was trained to be a Cook for the Queens Cooks.
I am searching for anymore information about any of the family members including Elizabeth & her brother.
Mabel married George Henry Lawrence in 1911 & moved to Fremantle Western Australia in 1912. Remarried later, after G. Lawrences death.
Elizabeths brother moved to Victoria Australia (not sure of year) where he owned a large Cattle Property & was very wealthy.
