Snaddon and Clarke - Lasswade
In Lasswade Midlothian, a wedding took place :
2.10.1819, not long after the birth of a daughter Ellen. Anne Clarke was the mother, and she had sisters Janet, Margaret, Marion and Elizabeth.
The father was William Snaddon, formerly of Alloa.
Allegedly Anne's mother was a "Mrs Clarke Of Sydney", which would have meant some long ship trips, unless Sydney is also in Scotland. Is it?
Thanks for any information on this family! Bev

Brisbane Family - Leith
My Grandmother was Sarah Margaret Brisbane. I don't think she liked the name Sarah as most entries I have found only name her as Margaret Brisbane. She was born as near as I can establish somewhere between June 1847 and April 1850 in Leith, Midlothian could be either North Leith or South Leith. Her father was James Brisbane a regular soldier in the 71st Foot and his regiment is known to have been in Britain from 1847 to 1853 which covers the period of Sarah Margaret's birth and also the 1851 census but I have not been able to locate the family from the census. Her mother was Margaret McDonald who married again to a Hutchison. I also have an address 70 St Andrews Street Leith which may have been a Brisbane or Hutchison home address. Any information or clues regarding my Grandmother and her parents and perhaps Grandmothers siblings would be most welcome.
