Her birth certificate has her registered as illegitimate and registered as Frances McEwan (her mother's M.S.). Her mother Agnes Elizabeth or Elizabeth Agnes married Samual Grant who adopted Frances. Frances married Daniel Kane born 1882 and they settled in Partick. I believe they had 11 children of which my father Alexander was second youngest. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for info on my G Grandfather and his family. George Arthur Thompson was born in Ryde (Isle of Wight)in 1876, son of John William Thompson (born Cowes 1838) and Maria Stout (born Wimborne Dorset). The family were in Ryde in 1861 and 71 and all but John were still there in 1881. (John appears to still be living though, as Maria is shown as being married). All appear to be missing from the 1891 English census. Family info leads me to believe they may have moved to the Aberdeen or Glasgow area. Both John and George were hairdressers/barbers. George appears again in London in 1901. Can anyone help with the Scotish connection please?
