Hegarty - Kearney
- Glasgow
My greatgrandparents were, according to their children's birth certificates, married on 10 August 1850 in Glasgow but I can't find an entry of their marriage - there is an entry of their banns read on 21 July 1850 in the Gorbals - their names were written as Michael Haggarty and Mary Cairns (I'm quite sure they are the same persons). I have found a brother of Mary's who lived with them in the 1861 census at 158 Orchard Street West, Govan and named John Kearney.
I'm looking for a brother or sister of Michael's- his parent's were William Hegarty and Jane Dougherty and he was born in Co. Donegal. If I can find a sibling, I may find out exactly where in Co. Donegal he was from. This is my first major task that I've been trying to overcome for 3 years now. So if anyone thinks they may have information leading to confirmation of Michael's birthplace, I would love to hear from you.
