They had 9 children, one of whom was my Great Grandfather, Robert Russell, born 1815 and killed in a mine collapse at "The Law" in 1863. This I learned from papers on file in Canada that I was given a transcribed copy of by a man a member of another Forrest family. The Gr. Gr. He was a headmaster in Rogart for a time, but died in 1858 leaving a young family. His brother James was a carrier, then a grocer in Carstairs and another,John was a farmer in Carnwath. William died in 1917 in the Great War in Mesopotainia. I believe that the mother of Alexander 1837 was a Grace Burnett born in Carluke in 1819, but I dont know her maiden name or his fathers name.
