Their son David Laird (born 1841-?) married on 30/12/1864 Annie McKean (b.1842) daughter of Janet RENNIE (?-1863) and John MC KEAN (?-1863) they lived at Old Monkland, Lanarkshire when Annie was born. The children of Agnes (nee) Dobbie and John Laird are: 1. Alexander Laird 1825- 2. Robert Laird 1827 - 3. Margaret laird 1829 - 4. Mary Laird 1834 - 5. David Laird 1841 - ? Married Annie McKean on 30/12/1864 Glasgow (my great great grandparents) 6. William Laird 1844 - 7. John Laird 1846 - Annie Mc Kean was listed as a Bleachfield Marker when she married David Laird. David Laird and Annie McKean (b 1842) had 9 Laird Children including John Laird (b.19/1/1868) who lived at Uries Row, Hutchesontown, Glasgow when he married Jeannie Storrie from Uddingston, Bothwell, Lanarkshire on 14/7/1899. John and Jean are my great grandparents.

John Cook(e) Of Parkhead, Glasgow - Parkhead
Would appreciate any assistance in tracing parents of my gg gfather John Cook (b. abt 1803, Parkhead, Lanarkshire). John married (abt 1824) Jean/Jane Cullen (b. abt 1802, Barony, Lanarkshire - Parents: James Cullen and Mary Kerr). John was a gardenermost of his life and lived at Parkhead until at least 1834. Their 13th child George (my g gfather) was born at Hogganfield, Barony, Lanarkshire on 16 Jun 1844.

Thomas Bonnar (Glasgow Celtic) - Parkhead
My geat grandfather lived in Westmuir Street, Parkhead and was one of the early Celtic Trainers in the days before they had a manager (in the 1890's) Found the family on the 1891 census. Thomas is shown in a photo with the team in the celtic histories but no information is included about him. His occupation is shown as miner and I think from family lore some of his family were involved in the Blantyre Pit disaster. His son,Francis, my grandfather was a hamper boy for the team. Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about Tommy.

William Lochrane and Margaret Cullen were married in Govan 1874 they were living at cvrawford street partick along with their parents, james and catherine lochrane nee parker and ann mullen nee madden, cannot find them on the census, margert and william travelled to the north east of england to work, but cannot find outwhat happened to the parents of these two. did they too move somewhere else in scotland, the lochranes were originally from ireland.

Trying to find details of the Strang family who lived around the west side of glasgow. James Strang was born in Wigton c1799 and was a watchmaker. This seems to have been the family business but Peter his son went into brassfinishing. Also looking for relatives of Mary Mcmillan of Colonsay(hotel cook) who married James Strang in Glasgow in 1890.

my Gt x 2 Grandparents were both born in Rutherglen. They were Robert Duncan (b.1822 - parents unknown)and Jane Anderson (b.1823 - parent John Anderson and Elizabeth Forest, I think) Their children were jane, William, margaret, John, Andrew, Catherine (or Christina) and Robert. The men were coal miners in either the Stonelaw Pit or Old Farme pit. My Gt grandfather Andrew Duncan broke his back in a pit accident around 1892 and I would like to know of more details of the accident. They all lived in the area of Stonelaw St., Old Farme Row, Greenhill Rd, and then later in Farme Loan RdI would love to make contact with anyone who has links with the family.

Parents names seem to change on Wedding certificate & Roberts supposed death certificate. Also hunting children of this couple.
