They had a son called Archibald Cameron born about 1920. Donald Cameron died on the 14 March 1925 at 40 St. Vincent Crescent, Glasgow. Is anyone researching the Cameron family?

Thomson, Alexander Fraser - Glasgow
I am trying to find information on my great great grandfather, Alexander Fraser THOMSON, born in July 1841 in New Deer. We believe there is a connection with Glasgow. He may have been a constable there at one time. His death is a bit of a mystery and I am trying to find when he died and where he is buried. He married Henrietta Martin MCLEAN in 1866 in Edinburgh. At the time of his death he was living in a boarding house owned by a Mrs. MCCORMICK. His family was in America. We believe he died sometime after 1878. Any information would be appreciate.

John Smith married Elizabeth Middleton, in 1838 period. I have never found the marriage. 7 children. I only have 1 marriage for son John in 1863 to Mary McCulloch. John Smith the elder died in 1853, not sure if Elizabth died before 1855 or remarried. They are my ggreatgrandparents.

Children: 1)James Blyth 1790-1829, boot & shoe maker, Edinburgh. m Marion Kerr. After his death she and son James moved to Glasgow. 2)Margaret Blyth 1791-1878 m 1819 Robert Tannahill, merchant, Glasgow. 8 children. 3) Isabella Blyth 1793-1874, unmarried. Probably lived with her sister Jessie Greig & family. 4) Robert Blyth 1795-1861/2?, saddler in Park Lane, London. m 1827 Elizabeth Boyd Finnie (prob sister of his business partner). 4 children. 5) David Blyth 1795-1829. Merchant /cooper in Montreal. Died at sea on his return to Scotland. 6)Janet/Jessie Blyth 1799-1882 m 1824? Robert Greig of Glen Park, baker at Holyrood, Edinburgh. 7 children. He died 1836. Family moved to Glasgow by 1861. 7) Anna/Ann Blyth 1797-1872 m 1826 David Anderson, cloth & woollen manuf, Glasgow. He founded the well-known firm David & John Anderson, fine dress fabrics & shirtings. Two sons & grandson David Blyth Anderson ran the business later. 9 children. 8) Richard Blyth 1801 - ? Shoemaker in Edinburgh (1828) & London (1833). 9) John Blyth 1803 died infant. 10) John Swanston Blyth 1804-1847, muslin manufacturer, Glasgow. m. Elizabeth Oswald Lethem 1809-1876, daughter of Patrick Lethem & Mary Waddell, Glasgow. I am still trying to find out the parents of James Blyth. Possibly descended from a John Blyth, a cordiner in Leith then Glasgow, who married in 1696 and had 7 children. There were a lot of other Blyths who were shoemakers in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, Kinross, Perthshire, etc.

Samuel Cowan - Glasgow
I am lookiong for any information about my grand father Samuel Cowan. I know that he served in the Royal Ulsters, and then moved to New Zealand, where he met and lived with my Grand mother, Anne Carter. Although he had no children of his own, My mother, uncle and aunt were his children, as we are his Mokos!! I know that he had a couple of sisters,one I believe I am named after: Fiona. Not too sure if he had brothers. He was born june 6th 1928 I think give or take a few years. He passed away in the early 2000s and was buried in New Zealand {military burial}. If you have any information that could put me in the right direction it would much appreciated!

RAF WWII 142 Squadron - Glasgow
I am trying to trace a Jimmy Gallagher who saw action in the Second World War as a bomb aimer in a Wellington bomber, part of 142 squadron. He was shot down and captured 29th May 1944. Surviving crew members and descendants have recently been reunited, Jimmy is still missing.

Hello. CHARLES SMITH DONALD, born Glasgow on 24/12/1855. Son of ALEXANDER DONALD and MARJORY SMITH. Occupation was Baptist Minister. 1891 census shows Charles and his wife AGNES living in Govan, Glasgow. I can find no trace of Charles in Scotland or England in 1901 census; family knowledge states he visited his relatives in Co Durham, England some time in late 1930's or early 1940's. He is reported to have lived in Antrimville Manse, Belfast, N Ireland at some time but dates not known. Does anyone know where Charles and Agnes were from 1901 onwards and does anyone have any pictures or information on Antrimville Manse. Any information greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello. I am looking for any information concerning ALEXANDER BEATTIE DONALD, born c1826 Aberdeen. Son of JAMES DONALD and ELIZABETH BEATTIE who were married at Dunnottar on 5/11/1808. Alexander married MARJORY SMITH at Stonehaven on 19/10/1846 and at the time of the marriage Alexander was a letter carrier in Aberdeen. The 1851 census shows Alexander to be a school master aged 25 living in School House, Lochlee, Angus with his wife and family. In the 1861 census Marjory Donald (Alexander's wife) and family are living at Govan, Glasgow and Marjory is shown as "Head of House" as Alexander is not there. I have Alexander's date of death as 18/11/1864 at Glasgow where he was a customs officer. I can find no trace of Alexander in Scottish or English census for 1861. Can anyone please help me find him? Thank you

I am looking for a contact for decendents of Alexander & Margaret(Blair) Barclay. I have a photo which I believe may be of them. It was taken in Glasgow in the 1800's. Their son Alexander move to Munising Michigan, United States around 1872, and Homesteaded from 1874 till his death in 1915, a cranberry farm in Whitefish Point. Alexander is my Great Grandfather. The photo was in my grandmothers photo album. My other grand parents where of American decent, so being the photo stock was for Glasgow, I surmize it may be Alexanders parents. I am seeking friends and family of my mum, Mary (May) Miller Nee: Scott. She was born April 17, 1931. We lived on Watt Street in Glasgow. She has one brother, Dougald, who I believe has a son of the same name. My father was John William Miller and he was a Tailor's Credit Supervisor in Enoch Square. She also had a best pal named Mary McTaggart known as Big Mary, who had a son named Frank and daughters named Mary Ellen and Kathy.

William SHAW of Glasgow (born about 1792), son of William Shaw and Caroline Ross, immigrated to Canada as a very young man. He married there to Mary Cameron and their first child, Sarah was born about 1819. Mary’s father was a Loyalist who received a land grant of 200A and his children did so as well. Instead of selling off their grants to new arrivals the Cameron family members became settlers in East Nissouri Township, Oxford County, Ontario, as soon as it was opened for settlement after the 1820 survey.

Trying to trace the descendants of James Brodie and Mary Gillies who married in Beith 1887. I have details of two daughters who married - Mary Brodie married Joseph Frazer of Carlisle in 1917; and Elizabeth Brodie married John Currie in 1929, they lived in GardnerStreet,Partick,Glasgow until 1934. Son John Gillies Brodie killed in WW1, other son James recorded at Gardner Street until 1929. James and Mary Brodie are buried in Beith with some of their infant children. My GG Grandma Isabella Cameron was born in Glasgow c. 1805 but I have been unable to find a definite match for her birth and don't know the names of her parents, other than her mother's first name which was also Isabella. Isabella junior married Thomas Aitchison at the Gorbals, Glasgow in 1824. They spent most of their married life in Dunfries. If any of this sounds familiar please get in touch.
