I'm looking for any information on George KIRKLAND (Baker), born about 1817 in Airdrie and his wife Jane (Jennie) WILLIAMSON, born about 1818 in Airdrie. Any information on their parents would be useful, as I already know they were married 1/6/1838 in Airdrie before moving to Glasgow and then Liverpool. Baillieston, Glasgow - Baillieston
The origin of the name comes from John Baillie who purchased part of the outlands of Barrachnie in 1732. Baillie, who is described "John Baillie of Baillieston,sometime merchant in London" on legal documents never lived on the farm which became known as Baillieston after him - either by him or local folk who christened it such. The village of Baillieston to the east took its name from the farm, which by 1795 had become a gentleman's estate.

looking for info concering Robert Thomson b 1877 who lived at 12 Bairds Row Bargeddie in 1916 when he and Jane Mcmillan Bowie were married. Married at Ballieston on 21 April 1916. Robert was a coal miner died 1962 and had a son Samuel b 1917 and a daughter Annie b about 1920. Mary was born about 1921 and died young. Family of Andrew Mather - Bellshill
Looking for descendents. My grandmothers name was Ellen Alexandra Tennant. She came from Carluke Lanarkshire Scotland. She married a man named Andrew Mather and he was from Bellshill Scotland. I do not know when either one fo them were born or married all I know is that they came to a small town called Russell Manitoba Canada in 1911. They had 5 childern. My dad was the second youngest.
