I am looking for information about the Sibbald family who lived in Tranent in the 1770s. Peter Sibbald married Margaret Guthrie and thay had a daughter Christiana born 6/1/1774 in Tranent. She is my great great great great grandmother. She married John Pendrigh in Haddington in 1798. They had five sons; Alexander, George, Thomas, Joseph and John.

There is a CUTHBERTSON/PURVIS connection too but I can't work it out;... an Ann CUTHBERTSON, widow of George, appears on the 1851 census as the aunt of one John PURVIS, farmer in Hadstone, Northumberland...... My ancestors lived in the Saltoun area in the 1800's. Philip Robertson was married to Marion Henderson in 1868. He was born around 1839 to Eliza or Elizabeth Forsythe. He may have been one of twins The other being named William. It would appear they were illegitimate and sometime between the age of 2 and 12 Eliza changed Philips name from Forsythe to Robertson The father of Philip was named as William Robertson (ploughman) on his marriage certificate . Any help would be much appreciated

Whitekirk Parish - East Lothian - Whitekirk
James Anderson and his family left from this hamlet to live in Australia in 1839. They settled in Adelaide where they tried to be market gardeners and their home was called 'Burnside' - now a suburb of the city, but later they moved and our branch of the family eventually ended up in New South Wales. Are there any Andersons who can trace their line back to Whitekirk parish, prior to 1839?
