They located first in Newcastle - Miramichi region and then Tracadie , New Brunswick . 2 other siblings named John or James and Mary stayed behind in Scotland .Mary corresponded steadily with her siblings in Canada . Robert's 2 sons named Robert JR and James joined him in Tracadie , NB , Canada in 1831- 1832 . My ancestor buried in Langhholm Wauchope Kirkyard d Oct 20 1722 age 71 with wife Janet age 63: Inscription reads: Here lyes John Warwick in Meikleim. Early maps reveal there was a Meikleholm cottage in that period. Curious to know if the two are the same locations, or an inscription error on gravestone? Any help welcome

William McLellan married Isabella Gibson in 1824 in Lochmaben. On the 1841 census Isabella is listed as a widow and her sons Robert, David and James are under 15years old. I cannot find a local birth registered for William nor can I find a death cert for him. Is anyone interested in the same family?

John Lindsay was born in 1842 at Glencairn Parish, the son of Samuel Lindsay and Margaret Collow. He married Jane Creighton, daughter of a local farmer, at Gotterbie, Lochmaben in 1870, and moved South to Hertfordshire where he set up a tailors/drapers business. He had a younger sister Margaret, known as Maggie, who lived in Lochmaben, with the married name of Gibson. Any ideas as to why he would have moved so far away from his family? My great, great Grandfather, David Copeland was born in Johnstone (Parish?) Dumfriesshire in abt 1822. His occupation was Stone Mason. He settled in Liverpool where he married Catharine Davies on 20th October 1844. They had four children Martha, Mary, Thomas and Jane. All the children except Thomas were born in Liverpool. Thomas was born in Annan, Dumfriesshire in abt 1849. David's father was James Copeland who was a shoemaker. Does anyone have any futher information?

I am led to believe Robert Porteous 1794 was the son of Alexander Porteous & Jean Watson of Peebles.
