David SImpson, Duns
- Duns
My great-grandfather David Simpson was born in Duns in November 1878. He married Mary Black McLachlan, born in Ayr, in Pringleton, Penpont, Duns, in October 1897. I have confirmed the birth of two sons, Archibald (my grandfather) born in 1898 and George born in 1900, and family story indicates there were three daughters - Isabel, Jessie and Margaret.
Archibald eventually married and settled in Ireland, where my mother was born. George married Jean, and had three children - David, Violet and Margaret. According to family story, Isabel became a cook in a big house in London. Jessie married Bob Wakenshaw and had three children. Margaret apparently died as a young woman.
I would like to hear from anyone who has these names in their family tree. Thanks in advance.
