Grimmer - Banff / Macduff? - Banffshire (BAN, County, Scotland)
The death certificate of my grandfather Frederick Grimmer states he was born in Banffshire 6/6/1913. His siblings were John Walter (later known as Jack, who I know was born in Macduff 22/1/1920) and twins Florrie and Arthur. His father was Sidney Richard Grimmer who moved to Norfolk with his wife (I have no details for her), where he worked at Clippesby Hall as a horticultural labourer. Both Fred and John also moved to Norfolk, and Florrie moved to Edinburgh with her husband Laurence Reynolds. However, I have no Scottish history on the family and would dearly love to find out more. One element of confusion is that Fred's surname at birth may have been Learmont or something vaguely similar, which explains why I haven't managed to track Fred's birth cert down. I would be grateful for any information, no matter how small! Thank you!
